Top black female travel bloggers to follow in 2022

Greether’s mission to provide women a safer and authentic way to travel is as important as our goal of being an outlet for inclusion for them.

While February 28th is the last day of Black History month, our commitment to ensuring women of color are welcomed with open arms wherever they go is in our mission every month of the year.

As a way to honor this commemoration, we have contacted some of our favorite and most inspiring travel bloggers/creators that every traveler should be following.

I have! My biggest fear when traveling is being kidnapped/stalked.

I've been to Paris twice and have had a few rude encounters. From stares on the train to stares on the sidewalks, to mumbles about me in French. To be honest, I automatically expected it because #BeingBlackwhiletraveling. I think the most welcome place I've felt is Greece. The people were super friendly and I did not have any rude encounters.

I like it! I think having a safe space as women travelers is so important to network, meet likeminded individuals and build community within the travel space.

What are the top 3 tips you have for female travelers?

1.) Always go with your intuition. Your intuition is more powerful than you think and many times, it is always right. So trust your gut feeling and go with it.

2.) Have an itinerary that makes you excited. Your travel, your way. Curate your trip in a way that makes you happy and in a way you feel comfortable with. You do not have to do anything because this is what others are doing. You can do the things that matter to you.

3.) Seek travel experiences always. You do not have to travel far and wide. You can go to the next nearby city or explore your own city but whatever you do, always seek out an adventure. It will give you more confidence and help you grow as a woman

Have you ever traveled alone? What's one of the things that worry you the most?

I've traveled to more than 15 countries myself and I used to be afraid of safety but not anymore.

In which country have you felt more welcome and unwelcome? Why?

I've felt most welcome in Colombia, I've felt the least welcome in Morocco. In Colombia, I saw a lot of people who looked like me and they treated me warmly and it felt like home. In Morocco, it was the opposite.

What do you think about Greether initiative?

I think it is brilliant and can be very helpful for solo female travelers who want to travel alone but have fears around safety.
